The rise of new digital technologies — especially the ones of the blockchain-based ‘crypto-world’ — has already proven disruptive in many social contexts and is expected to become yet more so. The talk discusses the ways in which the law and the digital world interact, as well as theories that have been developed for the interpretation of this interaction. Moving beyond a neoliberal conceptualization of economic globalization, the aim of the talk is to propose a “law and political economy” analysis of digital globalization.
