Prof. Rubinstein explores what can and should be done to confront online public health misinformation (PHM). Online PHM is primarily a problem of content moderation and platform regulation. Confronting it raises complex issues about misinformation, public health law, algorithmic amplification, cooperation between governments and private platforms, and the First Amendment that we consider below. Using regulation of online PHM about Covid-19 as a major case-study, the Article seeks to provides a comprehensive answer to a pressing question: what can be done about misinformation on social media?
