Indigenous knowledge is a source of the contemporary world and a cradle of pride for the nation that hosts it, leaving a legacy for future generations. The Gada is the legacy of the Oromo to Ethiopia in particular and to humanity in general, as it has been recognized worldwide and was registered by UNESCO as a World Intangible Heritage. Therefore, the aim of this talk is to discuss what the actors of the Gada system (Abba Gada and Hadha Sinqe) say about it, so that scholars of the University of Graz can learn about it and will get motivated to explore those and other African values. In addition, this talk paves the way for researchers at the University of Graz to collaborate with researchers in Africa and to uncover the partially unleashed wisdom in the Gada and show the role it plays in bringing people together for the good of the world.
