Inhalt:
Educational drama is a holistic approach to learning, which has proven to assist with developing speaking confidence, fluency, vocabulary and syntactic knowledge in language education. Since drama allows learners to become “someone else”, they can identify with roles and situations. This often goes beyond language (facial expressions, gesture, movement etc.) and leads to shared moments of intensity and a heightened awareness of others that would not be experienced in conventional language classrooms. The learning process becomes more memorable and transferable to the real world.
Through the methods and techniques of drama students not only improve their communication skills but also learn cooperation and develop creativity and are equipped with many other tools with which to communicate meaning.
By using various “pre-texts” this partly practical workshop will introduce various drama education techniques (e. g. still image, hot seating, alter ego, character pot, teacher in role etc.) in an improvised dramatic event.
