Wildlife habitats in the Croatian Danube region
The Croatian Danube region is situated in the eastern part of Croatia, along the 137,5 km long stretch of the central part of the Danube River course. Exceptionally diverse and preserved terrestrial, wetland and aquatic natural habitats enables living conditions to numerous flora and fauna species, among which many are being rare, endangered or protected species. Specific attention shall be given to presentation of the habitats and wildlife in the Kopački rit Nature Park. It is well-known as the internationally important wetland area, especially for the birds, fishes, and mammals. An overview of the research activity of our Department and activities involving students in their field-work shall be also presented.
