“Husserls epistemologische Prinzipien und ihre Aktualität”

The aim of my paper is twofold: First, I want to show that Husserl’s theory of intuition exhibits significant similarities to current epistemological views. I shall focus on similarities concerning the question of justification and argue that there is a movement in recent analytic epistemology, exemplified, for instance, by Huemer and Chudnoff, which shares with Husserl the basic idea that justification stems from the way things present themselves. Secondly, I shall contend that current analytic epistemology could benefit from including elements of Husserlian phenomenology and I aim to illustrate this claim by focusing on an objection that Markie raises against Huemer’s Principle of Phenomenal Conservatism.

Die Vortragsreihe “Philosophische Perspektiven” bietet Diplom-, Master- und Doktoratsstudierenden die Möglichkeit, fortgeschrittene Arbeitsprojekte vorzustellen und zu diskutieren. Ziel der Vortragsreihe ist es, den Referentinnen und Referenten durch die Lehrveranstaltungs-unübliche breite Fächerung des Publikums (aus sowohl der Praktischen als auch der Theoretischen und der Geschichte der Philosophie) neue Perspektiven in ihrer Forschung zu eröffnen.
