The master’s programme in Early Childhood Education is the first and only one of its kind in Austria. A distinctive feature of this programme is that a large proportion of the course is taught online, combined with blocks of face-to-face teaching. This makes it possible to study alongside working or if you live far away from the place of study.
Interests that are a good basis for this study programme
You should be interested in social, cultural and historical aspects of early childhood, and be keen to explore children’s developmental and learning processes. It is also important to enjoy academic thinking and work, as well as have an interest in the practical aspects of education.
Early childhood education at the University of Graz
In this study programme, you will examine how the learning of young children can best be structured and supported. You will engage with both theoretical and practical aspects of children’s development and educational equality, and with the influence of (digital) media on children’s development.
Even more future? With the new master’s modules, you can turn your master’s programme into a Master’s Plus. To be exact, this means that in two semesters you can work intensively on a future topic of your choice – be it communications, entrepreneurship or climate change.
[Translate to English:] Deine Möglichkeiten im Doktoratsstudium
You can pursue your research interests still further and perfect your methodological expertise, with either a humanities focus or an interdisciplinary approach, through the Doctoral Programme of Philosophy – Faculty of Environmental and Regional Sciences and Education. You will work independently to investigate academic questions and contribute to the development of knowledge and innovation in your subject area.
Preparation for a wide range of career paths
