About the degree programme

Art Science at the University of Graz

In the Master’s programme in Art Science, you will deepen your knowledge of art and visual culture and analyse works of art within their historical and global contexts. You will explore topics such as gender, post-colonialism, transculturality and current research questions. The aim of the programme is to examine works of art and visual phenomena in terms of their form, materials and media, to situate them within historical and global contexts, and to critically question how and why something is regarded as ‘art’ or marginalised.
