The teacher training programme is organised and provided jointly by eight institutions working on a collaborative basis in the South-East Development Network (EVSO). In this study programme you will benefit from the combined strengths of all these institutions, and a broad range of study options. Your first school experience takes place as early as the second semester!
For the teacher training programme you must select at least two subjects or one subject as well as a specialist area of education.
Catholic Religion as a teaching subject at the University of Graz
This study programme covers teaching methodology and all the topics and issues that arise in the Bible and in the tradition of Christian life, faith and teaching, particularly those of the Catholic Church. Existential questions and current debate in society ensure that Catholic Religion as a teaching subject has contemporary relevance.
Master’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training – teaching the subject of Catholic Religion
The master’s programme in Catholic Religion as a teaching subject builds directly on the bachelor’s programme, broadening and developing the knowledge and skills already acquired.
Entry to the bachelor’s programme in General Secondary Level Teacher Training is selective and you will need to complete the admission process. During your bachelor’s studies you must also show evidence of Latin language skills (10 hours per week in the sixth form or supplementary examination). This is required to be able to take the module "Kirchengeschichte und Ökumenische Theologie" in the 5th semester.
