Linking theory to practice
What makes the PELP study programme unique is its interdisciplinary nature. Combining theory with practice, issues concerning politics, economics and law are addressed and scrutinised from a philosophical angle. This study programme can also be taken wholly in English, as well as offered as a double degree in cooperation with Ruhr University Bochum.n.

You are interested in investigating political, economic and social issues from both a normative and philosophical perspective. You also need to have completed a bachelor's degree or a degree with at least 180 ECTS credits.
Political, Economic and Legal Philosophy at the University of Graz
In Graz, students have a wide range of courses to choose from, particularly on democracy and climate justice, while Bochum gives them the opportunity to specialise in moral and market-related issues. The focus is always on devising problem-solving strategies founded on norms.
The study programme can also be taken as a double degree in partnership with Ruhr University Bochum. You will need to spend a mandatory semester abroad (30 ECTS credit points) at the partner institution as part of your study programme.
After completing the master’s programme there is the possibility of further study in the doctoral programme. The content will be evaluated during the admission process.
Preparation for a wide range of career paths
As a graduate, you will be able to work in administration, politics, business, civil society and education. Potential career paths include teaching and research at (non-)university institutions, in administration and the public sector, in NGOs, in political parties and associations, at private companies, in the media or in political, ethical or general consulting.
For admission to the master’s programme you need to have completed a bachelor's degree or a degree with at least 180 ECTS credits.
