The English-language master’s programme in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering is run in collaboration with Graz University of Technology as part of the NAWI Graz partnership. Its distinctive feature is the combination of chemistry, pharmacy and process engineering, and the practical work in modern laboratories.
Interests that are a good basis for this study programme
You should be interested in investigating the practical application of engineering principles for industrial implementation of chemical or pharmaceutical processes. For admission to the master’s programme you must also have already completed a subject-relevant first degree.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering at the University of Graz
In the master’s programme you can specialise in either chemical or pharmaceutical engineering. You will acquire theoretical and practical skills that will equip you to develop and assess products, production processes, quality assurance systems and innovations for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, including the use of process engineering methods.
Doctoral Programme of Natural Sciences
The Doctoral Programme of Natural Sciences allows you to develop your own research interests further and to perfect your methodological skills. You will work independently to investigate academic questions and contribute to the development of knowledge and innovation in your subject area.
Preparation for a wide range of career paths
As a graduate of this master's programme, depending on your bachelor’s degree programme and individual specialisation, you will be qualified for careers in research, development, planning, production and quality control of chemical and pharmaceutical products. These might include for example the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, business, administration, research and teaching, the development of pharmaceutical and chemical processes and products, the optimisation of chemical processes and products, environmental impact studies, or quality control and assurance.
