The basic module teaches the basics of everyday study, opens up initial access to networked thinking and is the perfect introduction to your bachelor's or diploma studies. The entire basic module consists of three parts.

What do I get out of the basic module?

It contains interdisciplinary approaches

You will receive a certificate after completing the basic module

The building blocks of the basic module

The basic module is composed of three parts:

1. Subject-specific basic module

2. Faculty-wide basic module

3. University-wide basic module

The subject-specific basic module

is anchored in your curriculum and contains the most important basics of your studies.

Which courses have to be completed within the framework of the faculty-wide basic module is defined in your curriculum. You can find it in UniGrazOnline (UGO) under "My Degree Programme (Curriculum Support)".

The faculty-wide basic module

is also anchored in your curriculum and is designed to give you a basic understanding of the content and processes of your faculty.

Which courses have to be completed within the framework of the faculty-wide basic module is defined in your curriculum. You can find it in UniGrazOnline (UGO) under "My Degree Programme (Curriculum Support)".

The university-wide basic module

is completed as part of the free electives and teaches you everything you need to know as a student of the University of Graz.

It consists of six courses, three of which are offered in the summer semester and three in the winter semester. Completion of the university-wide basic module is generally voluntary. However, if you want to receive the Basic Module Certificate, you must complete three courses of it.
