Uni Graz geht mit Wissenschaft ins Kino

Die neue Reihe „Science & Cinema“ beschäftigt sich mit der wissenschaftlichen Aufarbeitung und dem Wahrheitsgehalt von Spielfilmen und Fernsehserien.

Premiere für Science & Cinema zu Zombies, Monstern und Mutanten

Mythos oder Realität? Könnten die Helden der Kindheit tatsächlich existieren? Die neue Reihe „Science & Cinema“ beschäftigt sich mit der wissenschaftlichen Aufarbeitung und dem Wahrheitsgehalt von Spielfilmen und Fernsehserien. Anhand ausgewählter Filmausschnitte wird die Fantasie der AutorInnen von ExpertInnen in anregender Kinoatmosphäre analysiert.

In der ersten Ausgabe am 28. Jänner 2016 begibt sich Molekularbiologe Kai-Uwe Fröhlich im Gespräch mit Fritz Treiber auf die Spuren von Zombies, erklärt, warum es einen Jurassic Park auch in naher Zukunft nicht geben wird und wie die Stoffwechselvorgänge eines Monsters tatsächlich funktionieren müssten. Ausschnitte aus Filmen, wie „I Am Legend“, „Planet der Affen (Prevolution)“ und „Contagion“, begleiten die Ausführungen.

The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.
