Wie bringen wir mehr Bewegung in den Alltag? Sportwissenschafterin Sylvia Titze erklärt es im AirCampus

Die Podcast-Plattform der Grazer Universtitäten, der AirCampus, präsentiert jeden Montag Wissens-Podcasts. Diese Woche haben wir diese Themen im Programm:

1) Strecke machen. Mehr Bewegung im Alltag – das geht! Wichtig sind der Wille und ein Plan, sagt Sportwissenschafterin Sylvia Titze. Zum Tag des Sports am 6. April fragen wir: Wie klappt das am besten und wie viel Bewegung brauchen wir?

2) Ölige Betonrezeptur. Neben Wasser wird keine Substanz so häufig verwendet wie Beton. Das Problem dabei: Der CO₂ -Abdruck ist enorm. An der TU Graz beschäftigt man sich mit umweltfreundlicheren Alternativen. Welche genau das sind und was Altspeiseöl damit zu tun hat, erklärt Florian Mittermayr.

3) Autismus verstehen. Im Durchschnitt ist jede hundertste Person von Autismus betroffen. Trotzdem sprechen wir im Alltag nicht viel darüber. Jedes Jahr am 2. April soll der Weltautismustag deshalb Bewusstsein für die Erkrankung schaffen.

4) 50 Jahre ESTA. Mit dem 50. ESTA-Kongress findet ab dem 9. April an der Kunstuniversität Graz ein wichtiges, internationales Vernetzungstreffen für Lehrende und Instrumentalist*innen aller Saiteninstrumente statt. Neben einem Concerto Competition und Vorträgen finden auch Konzerte statt.

Die Initiative erhielt 2012 den Inge-Morath-Preis des Landes Steiermark, 2017 den PR-Panther in der Kategorie "Wissenschaft" und 2018 den Green Panther in der Kategorie Online Kommunikation.

The paper was published today in the scientific journal Nature Communications.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. An evening designed to inspire interest in studying chemistry.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
