Heinz Fischer war Gast im Rechtshistorischen Dialog über das Ende des Parlamentarismus in Österreich

Im März 1933 schaltete Bundeskanzler Engelbert Dollfuß den Nationalrat und den Verfassungsgerichtshof aus und regierte per Notverordnung diktatorisch, bis er im Juli 1934 von den österreichischen Nationalsozialisten ermordet wurde. Über dieses Ereignis und seine Folgen sowie über die Situation und Bedeutung des Parlamentarismus heute diskutierte Rechtshistorikerin Anita Ziegerhofer am 21. März 2023 mit Bundespräsident a.D. Heinz Fischer an der Uni Graz.

Kaum jemand kennt die österreichische Republik und Politik so gut wie Heinz Fischer. Der gebürtige Grazer bekleidete als Bundespräsident nicht nur das höchste Amt im Staat (2004–2016). Nach dem Studium der Rechtswissenschaften an der Uni Wien, wurde er 1962 Sekretär der sozialdemokratischen Parlamentsfraktion und 1971 in den Nationalrat gewählt. Später war er unter anderem Wissenschaftsminister (1983–1987) und Nationalratspräsident.

In der Reihe „Rechtshistorischer Dialog“ im Veranstaltungsformat „REWI im Gespräch“ beleuchtet Anita Ziegerhofer seit 2017 mit renommierten Persönlichkeiten bedeutende geschichtliche Ereignisse in ihrer rechtlichen Dimension im Zusammenhang mit aktuellen politischen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
