Are you planning to study at the University of Graz? Then you are in the right place. We provide you with the most important information for a successful start to your studies in the winter semester 2025/26. At the University of Graz, you can choose from a wide range of degree programmes. You can find a detailed overview on our website for prospective students → here.

If you have already made up your mind, there are some deadlines that you need to be aware of, depending on your field of study. In general, registration for bachelor's and diploma programmes starts on 16 June 2025 and is open until 10 August 2025. The deadline for master's programmes is from 7 July to 31 August 2025.

If you want to start a teacher training programme, you have to take action in advance and register with the Ministry of Education's admission procedure for teacher training. This is possible from 3 March 2025. The latest registration date is 15 May 2025, 12.00 pm.

The University of Graz has its own admission procedures for four bachelor's degree programmes, one diploma degree programme and two master's degree programmes: Biology, Psychology (Bachelor's & Master's), Pharmaceutical Sciences (Bachelor's & Master's), Molecular Biology and Law. If you want to study one of these subjects, you have to register for the admission procedure between 3 March and 15 July 2025.

If you want to study sports, you have to demonstrate a certain level of athletic ability. For this purpose, a motor skills admission/supplementary examination will take place. These usually take place in February and June. After successfully passing the exam, you can enrol within the regular application deadlines.

From the end of February, you will find all the latest information and dates for the respective admission procedures on our website https://aufnahmeverfahren.uni-graz.at/. We look forward to your participation!

Overcoming boundaries: Can we manage without prisons and camps?

The US immigration agency ICE has sparked fear and horror. Not only are migrants criminalised and brutally persecuted, but earlier this year, ICE officers killed two US citizens in Minneapolis. Against the backdrop of these dramatic events, the University of Graz is shedding light on the role of deportation and detention centres as part of the international conference ‘Camps, Belonging, and Abolition Democracy’. Researchers aim to develop scenarios for how a future without prisons and the death penalty can become a reality.
