Peer mentoring
If no one in your immediate family has studied before, some questions may remain unanswered at the start of your studies and during your first semester. To ensure that you have a smooth start as a first-generation student, you will be supported by our mentors before and during your first year of study. They will support you in deciding on a course of study and getting off to a successful start and help you find your way around everyday university life.
Would you like to find out more about your chosen degree programme and explore the campus?
Register for your individual taster day as part of the UniErleben!
- We will answer all your questions about studying and everything to do with studying
- We'll take you on a campus tour and show you all the important places
- We will attend a course from your chosen degree programme together
When? At any time during the semester!
To make sure you are well prepared for your first day at university, we are organising a trial run!
As part of the Welcome Weeks for first-semester students, we offer a campus tour for first-generation students. We not only show you around the campus, but also answer all your questions and go through all the scenarios that await you at the start of your studies. From "What do I do if I sit in the wrong room?" to "Why is everyone knocking at the end of the lecture?" - we've thought of everything!
And so that you already have a few friends for the first day, everyone is invited to go to a café together after the campus tour - the first round of drinks is on us!
Ask us your questions in our weekly online consultation hours
Don't have time and need an individual appointment? No problem, just get in touch at peer-mentoring(at)uni-graz.at and we'll be happy to arrange an appointment, whether online or in person.
