History at the University of Graz
In the bachelor’s programme you will gain an overview of all historical epochs since ancient times. By learning how to use historical sources and how to engage critically in academic debate you will learn to analyse and understand historical events from a scholarly perspective.
Master’s programme in Historical Science
The master’s programme in Historical Science builds directly on the bachelor’s programme, broadening and intensifying the knowledge and skills already acquired. At the University of Graz you also have the option of interdisciplinary master’s programmes and joint programmes, allowing further scope for individualised and specialised learning.
Preparation for a wide range of career paths
With a bachelor’s degree in History you will be qualified for a wide range of roles in the humanities and cultural studies. Typical fields of employment include libraries and publishing, media and documentation work (press, radio, TV, online media), culture and research management, museum didactics and education, adult education, and tourism.
