Im Auftrag Ihrer Majestät: Stationen eines britischen Botschafters

Diplomatisches Fingerspitzengefühl ist gefragter denn je. Kaum jemand lässt sich aber dabei in die Karten blicken. Einer tut es. Leigh Turner, langjähriger britischer Botschafter in Österreich, ist am 31. März 2022 an der Universität Graz zu Gast. Unter dem Titel „Im Auftrag Ihrer Majestät“ wird der Diplomat über seine beruflichen Stationen berichten, die ihn neben Wien, Berlin und Istanbul auch nach Moskau und Kiew führten.

Leigh Turners internationale Erfahrungen fließen außerdem in seine Tätigkeit als Schriftsteller ein. Unter dem Pseudonym Robert Pimm veröffentlichte er mehrere Bücher: „Blood Summit“ – ein in Berlin verorteter Krimi, „Eternal Life“ – ein Thriller, der die Grenzen des Kapitalismus beleuchtet, und „Seven Hotel Stories“ – schwarze, feministische Komödien, in denen Fünf-Sterne-Hotels als Schauplatz dienen.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
