This series of events is organised in collaboration with the University of Graz – the Institute of Philosophy, the Institute of Physics and the interdisciplinary research focus ‘Perception: Episteme, Aesthetics, Politics at the Faculty of Philosophy – as part of the Kunsthaus Graz’s 2027 annual programme, ‘Outer Spaces’, which is dedicated to exploring ideas and concepts of space. The lectures and discussions bring together academics and artists once a month to explore the fringes of what we know – and to look beyond them.
In-between states and boundaries
The series kicks off on 28 October 2026 at the Needle in the Kunsthaus Graz: Philosopher Sonja Rinofner-Kreidl and physicist Axel Maas will discuss liminality – that is, an intermediate state – and boundaries, as well as their interrelationship, with artist Eva Schlegel in a session entitled ‘Liminality/Borders’. ⇒ Find out more about the event
