Between palm trees and leaf lettuce: Plant rarities market on May 4 and 5 at the university

Countless varieties of chilli, tomatoes and peppers, unusual herbs and rare vegetables: the gardeners at the University of Graz also sell their varieties at the Plant Rarities Market. Photo: University of Graz

Hobby gardeners and balcony lovers can stock up on unusual vegetable and ornamental plants on the first weekend in May. Around 100 growers come to the University of Graz

Garden fans can browse through organic seeds, herb rarities or young vegetable plants in the most unusual varieties on the large meadow next to the main university building. Orchids, bonsais and palm trees can be found among the ornamental plants on the grounds of the Botanical Garden in Schubertstraße.
On Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, 2024, the large rarities market will once again take place at the University of Graz from 9.30 am to 4 pm. Almost 100 exhibitors will be offering seeds and plants as well as edibles, selected handicrafts and garden utensils.

Admission is free. Arrival by public transport is recommended.
