They are allowed to go to elections, drive cars and can be fined. Youths have the same rights as decision makers. Still they are often not taken seriously. Libora Oates-Indruchová, Professor for Gender Relations, shows how the whole society would profit if regulations and laws were made for those they affect.
It would be important to find out what young people can contribute to society instead of concentrating on few negative aspects, Oates-Indruchová argues. A strong, well-working society has to represent all its persons and include them into decision making. It is hard, however, to accelerate such a change owing to deep-rooted cultural traditions.
