Das Webradio informiert über Forschung, Bildung, dem Campusleben und aktuellen Fragen

Hören Sie diese Woche Webradio-Beiträge zu folgenden Themen:

Grüne Umwandlung von erneuerbarer Brennstoffen zu Strom: Die Brennstoffzelle wird es künftig ermöglichen, uns mit wesentlich weniger Emissionen im Straßenverkehr zu bewegen. An der TU Graz wird in diesem Bereich intensiv geforscht.

 

Das Projekt SEKEM hat aus ägyptischem Wüstenboden eine nachhaltige Landwirtschaft gemacht. Auch die Verbindung von Kunst und Wissenschaft wird von der Initiative gestärkt, wie ein Festakt zu Ehren von SEKEM-Gründer Ibrahim Abouleish an der KUG zeigte.

 

An der Med Uni erforschen SchülerInnen spielerisch die personalisierte Medizin: Im Projekt "Herzerkrankungen durch Biomarker erkennen lernen" schauen sie ForscherInnen über die Schulter und können auch selbst im Labor aktiv werden.

 

"OpenScience@UniGraz" nennt sich ein ÖH-Projekt, das Wissenschaft öffnen und die Teilhabe für alle ermöglichen möchte. Wichtige Säulen sind dabei individuelle Blogs für Projekte und Kurse, einfaches und schnelles Veröffentlichen im Web sowie angepasste Funktionen für offene Wissenschaft.

Das Webradio der Grazer Universitäten liefert jeden Montag, ab 9 Uhr, vier neue Beiträge rund um das Geschehen an allen Grazer Universitäten, die auf http://webradio.uni-graz.at online zu hören sind bzw. zum Download bereit stehen.


Natürlich stehen alle Beiträge - bis zurück zum Start des Webradios als Einzelprojekt an der Uni Graz im Oktober 2009 - auch im online Archiv zum Nachhören zur Verfügung.


 
Seit März und noch bis bis Dezember 2014 werden die Beiträge des Webradios außerdem auch auf Radio Soundportal (in Graz auf 97,9 MHz) zu hören sein. So wird das breite Leistungsspektrum der vier Grazer Universitäten seinem Zielpublikum auch auf analoge Weise näher gebracht.

They have travelled to Europe as stowaways via international trade and are now rapidly taking over large parts of the continent: more and more insects from other parts of the world are becoming established here. Biologist Gernot Kunz recently discovered four species for the first time at the University of Graz Botanical Garden: the American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus), the wounded leafhopper from North America (Erasmoneura vulnerata) and the Japanese grape leafhopper (Arboridia kakogawana) – all three specialising in vines – as well as the Indian leafhopper Pediopsoides sharmai, which is associated with walnut trees.

A total of 170 entries were submitted to the Austrian Academy of Sciences’ essay competition on the topic of artificial intelligence and science. Both first and second place went to researchers from the University of Graz.

Kohlendioxid gilt als Klimaproblem. Es kann aber auch Rohstoff sein. Der Grazer Chemiker Johann Hlina untersucht, wie sich Kohlenoxide wieder in Kohlenwasserstoffe verwandeln lassen – also in Ausgangsmaterial für Treibstoffe, Kunststoffe und Medikamente. Helfen sollen dabei Seltenerdmetalle

The Arctic up close: ORF special feature on the University of Graz’s research station in S

Students from the University of Graz are spending two weeks conducting research at the Univerisity of Graz research station at the Sermilik Fjord in Greenland, which has been operational for three years. They are measuring glacial runoff, tracking ice melt in real time and installing weather stations. ORF is following the expedition and will be reporting on the special feature ‘Arctic Adventure’ across its various channels from 20 July.
