Soziale Kompetenzen: ein Zentrum bündelt Angebote für Studierende

Die Universität Graz will ihren Studierenden nicht nur qualitätsvolles Fachwissen vermitteln. Sie will auch Persönlichkeiten fördern und fordern. „Unsere Studierenden und AbsolventInnen tragen als angehende EntscheidungsträgerInnen wesentlich zur Gestaltung und Weiterentwicklung der Gesellschaft bei“, sagt Rektorin Christa Neuper. Daher wird zusätzlich zur fachlich wertvollen Bildung das Augenmerk auf den Erwerb ergänzender Kompetenzen gerichtet.

Das Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz bietet Studierenden sowohl der Universität Graz als auch der Technischen Universität Graz mehr als 50 Lehrveranstaltungen zu Themen wie Kommunikation, Kooperation, Konfliktlösung, Projektmanagement und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung. Die Lehrveranstaltungen sind anrechenbarer Bestandteil des Studiums. Jährlich nutzen etwa 1200 Studierende das stark nachgefragte Angebot, das sukzessive erweitert wird.

Zentrumsleiter Sascha Ferz beschreibt die Zielsetzung: „Das Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz leistet einen Beitrag zu einer funktionierenden Demokratie in der globalen Gesellschaft. Wir befähigen Studierende, Antworten auf persönliche, berufliche und soziale Herausforderungen zu entwickeln, indem wir ihre Kompetenzen in den Bereichen Kommunikation und Selbstwahrnehmung, Eigensteuerung, Kooperation sowie gesellschaftliche Verantwortung stärken.“

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public.
