Von der Idee zum Produkt: Schüler:innen präsentieren ihre Kreationen an der Uni Graz

Kinder auf Verkaufsständen in der Uni Graz

Volksschüler:innen verkaufen ihre selbst entworfenen Produkte am Changemaker Markttag 2023 an der Universität Graz.

Im Changemaker-Programm erfahren Kinder im Volksschulalter spielerisch, wie man aus einer Idee ein Produkt macht und es auch verkauft. Am Changemaker-Markttag an der Universität Graz am 25. Mai 2023 konnten über 300 Schüler:innen ihre Kreationen wie Stressbälle, Seifen oder Bienenwachstücher auf eigenen Verkaufsständen anbieten und so den Erfolg ihrer Arbeit einheimsen.

Die Universität Graz wurde wieder zum Tummelplatz für über 300 Volksschüler:innen. Im Changemaker-Programm des Zentrums für Entrepreneurship und angewandte Betriebswirtschaftslehre und des Instituts für Wirtschaftspädagogik konnten die Kinder die Grundzüge unternehmerischen Denkens spielerisch erlernen.

Studierende kamen für Workshops zweimal in die Klassen. Dort entwickelten sie zusammen mit den Schüler:innen zuerst Ideen und dann auch die Produkte. Diese wurden dann im Werkunterricht fertiggestellt. Der Höhepunkt des Projekts war der Changemaker-Markttag an der Universität Graz, an dem die Schüler:innen dann ihre Waren an selbst gestalteten Marktständen verkauften.

Eigene Antriebskraft

Eröffnet wurde der Markttag mit einem eigens für die Aktion komponiertem Lied. Die Melodie wurde von einem Lehrer komponiert, den Text kam von Studierenden. Die Grußworte sprach Alfred Gutschelhofer vom Zentrum für Entrepreneurship und angewandte Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Er freute sich über die vielen Marktstände und die zahlreichen Produkte. „Wir wollen zeigen, wie schön es ist, selbstständig etwas zu gestalten und aus der eigenen Antriebskraft ein neues Produkt zu schaffen.“

Die Auswahl an den Verkaufsständen war tatsächlich groß. Von Bienenwachstüchern über Stressbälle und Seifen bis zu Geldbörsen reichte das vielfältige Angebot der Schüler:innen. „Die Erfahrung war für die Kinder herrlich“, sagt Felix Österreicher, Lehrer an der Volksschule Berliner Ring in Graz. „Sie sind sehr aufgeregt, aber sie haben sehr fleißig gearbeitet. Heute können sie dafür den Erfolg einheimsen.“

Schöne Abwechslung

Auch für die Student:innen war die Teilnahme am Changemaker-Programm eine besondere Erfahrung. „Die Kinder brachten so viel Motivation mit und waren richtig aktiv“, erzählt Jana Preitler. Für ihre Studienkollegin Andrea Zmöllig war die Arbeit mit den Volksschüler:innen eine tolle Abwechslung: „Die Kinder sind wirklich schlau, engagiert und eifrig. Das hatte ich vorher nicht erwartet.“ 

Dieser Höhepunkt des Changemaker-Programms zeigte, wie ein erster Kontakt mit Themen wie Teamarbeit und Projektmanagement auf positive und anregende Art geschehen kann. Mit viel Elan nahmen Volksschüler:innen für einen Vormittag ihren Platz in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft ein.

In their doctoral theses at the Institute for Educational Research and Teacher Training at the University of Graz, Melanie Gürentz and Claudia Mair examined how these new teachers perceive their new professional roles.

Talent Talks bridge the gap in career guidance

The Styrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO Steiermark), the Styrian Chamber of Labour (AK Steiermark) and the AMS are joining forces when it comes to training young people and, through the “Talent Talks”, are creating a seamless pathway to career guidance. This takes preparation and follow-up support – just in time for the start of the term and the scheme’s tenth anniversary – to a whole new level. A new survey conducted by the Talent Centre among 2,687 former participants to mark the anniversary shows just how important this development is. Of the young people who received follow-up support from the Talent Report, 74.6 per cent stated that they had a good understanding of their own strengths and talents following the Talent Check. Without follow-up support, the figure was 66.5 per cent – a significant difference of 8.1 percentage points.
