The University of Graz is deeply shocked and saddened by the terrible incident at the BORG school in Dreierschützengasse. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with the victims and their families. We understand that students and staff are shocked by this event and recommend seeking support to help process this tragic incident.

This act has hit us hard and left us speechless! Nevertheless, we must not allow ourselves to be discouraged by such attacks, but should instead strive to foster a spirit of togetherness.

The federal government has declared three days of national mourning. We ask you to consult within your organisational unit whether events should be cancelled or under what circumstances they can take place. Some events at our university have already been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding!

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.
