Training statt Tablette

Warum Sport gesund ist - Uni Graz lädt zu Podiumsdiskussion am 10. November

Dass immer mehr Menschen immer weniger Bewegung machen, könnte zum größten Gesundheitsproblem des 21. Jahrhunderts werden. Dies gilt sowohl für den präventiven als auch für den therapeutischen Bereich. Gezieltes körperliches Training hat in der Therapie chronischer Erkrankungen verschiedenste positive Effekte auf das Krankheitsbild und seine Symptome, auf die körperliche Leistungsfähigkeit und letztendlich auf die Lebensqualität. Ist Training gar ein universales Medikament?
Diese und weitere Fragen beantworten Sportwissenschafter Peter Hofmann und Sportmediziner Manfred Wonisch bei einer Podiums- und Publikumsdiskussion am 10. November 2014 an der Uni Graz.
Als Gastgeber und Moderator fungiert Sportwissenschafter Gerhard Tschakert, der regelmäßig im Rahmen der Uni-Graz-Reihe „Der bewegte Körper“ wissenschaftliche Aspekte aus den Bereichen Leistungsfähigkeit, Gesundheit durch Sport und Körperkult in Form einer offenen Vorlesung interessierten ZuhörerInnen näher bringt.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
