Viele Uni-Graz-Lehrende lauschten den Vorträgen und beteiligten sich an den Workshops.

Keynotes und Lehrpreise: "Responsible University" war Thema am Tag der Lehre.

Kein Tag der Lehre ist wie seine Vorgänger. Die Themen sind jedes Jahr unterschiedlich, die Vorträge interessant, das Finale immer spannend. Am neunten November 2017 war das Thema "Responsible University - Verantwortung in Studium und Lehre". Vizerektor Martin Polaschek widmete seine Eröffnungsworte genau diesem Thema: "Als Universität haben wir eine Verantwortung gegenüber der Gesellschaft. Sie als Lehrende haben die Verantwortung im Hörsaal." Dazu passend auch die beiden "Keynotes" der Veranstaltung von Oliver Reis, Universität Paderborn, zu "Wie Heterogenität die Hochschulen verändert - Zur Bedeutung von Werten und Verantwortung für das Hochschullernen" sowie von Larissa Krainer, Universität Klagenfurt, "Universität und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung: Perspektiven für Forschung, Lehre und Studium".

Mitunter der Höhepunkt des Nachmittags und Abends war sicherlich die Verleihung des Lehrpreises "Lehre: Ausgezeichnet!", der die herausragenden Leistungen von Uni-Graz-Lehrenden würdigte. Vizerektor Polaschek, der ÖH-Vorsitzende Bernhard Wieser und ÖH-Vertreterin Alexandra Melmer prämierten gemeinsam drei innovative und hervorragende Lehrveranstaltungen zum Fokus „Responsible Science“.

Und so gingen die Preise in diesem Jahr an ein Kooperationsteam, bestehend aus Mag. Martina Friesenbichler (Akademie für Neue Medien und Wissenstransfer), Lisa Weichsler (Südwind), Dr. Ulrike Gelbmann und Mag. Thomas Winkler, MSc PhD (beide Institut für Systemwissenschaften, Innovations- und Nachhaltigkeitsforschung) für ihre im Rahmen des Masterstudiums "Global Studies" am Institut für Wirtschafts-, Sozial- und Unternehmensgeschichte abgehaltene Lehrveranstaltung: "IP – Das globale T-Shirt".

Ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andrea Paletta und Dr. Gerald Payer, Institut für Sportwissenschaft, bekamen gemeinsam mit Timo Grabner die Auszeichnung für ihre Lehrveranstaltungskooperation: "Seminar Sportpädagogik & Schulpraktisch-methodische Übungen" .

Und Dr. Yvonne Völkl vom Institut für Romanistik konnte die Jury mit ihrer Lehrveranstaltung: "Interkulturelle Kommunikation" überzeugen

Neben einem "Lehrpreis-Pendel", gefertigt im Feinmechanischen Labor der Uni Graz, erhielten die GewinnerInnen Schecks im Wert von je 2.000 Euro sowie Kulinarisches aus dem Unistore.

“HeinrichBiCool”: University of Graz demonstrates the effects of green facades and roofs

The University of Graz has launched a pioneering project at the University Centre for Theology. Its name, “HeinrichBiCool”, says it all: a comprehensive system of green facades and roof will cool the building at Heinrichstraße 80 during the summer. At the same time, this will create a new habitat for plants and animals, helping to increase biodiversity. The accompanying monitoring programme will provide detailed data on the impact of the measures on indoor climate, energy consumption and biodiversity. The findings will lay a scientifically sound foundation for further projects aimed at making cities sustainable, climate-resilient and liveable. The partners in this project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), are AEE INTEC – Institute for Sustainable Technologies, Technisches Büro Siegfried Stark, the landscape architecture and urban planning firm “studio boden”, and Ökoteam Graz.
