Neues Institut für Pädagogische Professionalisierung mit Symposium eröffnet

„Drei in einem“ versprach Mag. Julia Seyss-Inquart zur Eröffnung des Symposiums „Schule vermitteln“ am 29. Oktober 2012 in der gut besuchten Aula der Uni Graz. Und das drei guten Gründen: Es erfolgte der offizielle Startschuss für das neue Institut für Pädagogische Professionalisierung. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Agnieszka Czejkowska, Professorin für LehrerInnenbildung und Schulforschung sowie Institutsleiterin, hielt ihre Antrittsvorlesung. Und Vorträge sowie eine abschließende Podiumsdiskussion – mit Prof. Dr. Daniel Wrana von der Pädagogischen Hochschule FHNW-Schweiz, Prof. Dr. Andrea Liesner von der Universität Hamburg, Dr. Walter Degendorfer, Rektor der Pädagogischen Hochschule Burgenland und der Studienrichtungsvertretung der ÖH Uni Graz – gaben reichlich inhaltlichen Input in die Aktivitäten rund um die pädagogische Professionalisierung.
Zum geglückten Start gratulierten Forschungs-Vizerektor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Scherrer und Univ.-Prof. Dr. Barbara Gasteiger-Klicpera, Dekanin der Umwelt-, Regional- und Bildungswissenschaftlichen Fakultät. „Die Fakultät leistet mit dem neuen Institut einen Beitrag zum gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert von Schulforschung, PädagogInnenbildung und Kulturvermittlung“, betonte Gasteiger-Klicpera.

Das Institut für Pädagogische Professionalisierung legt auch die organisatorische Basis, um vor allem Forschungskooperationen zwischen Universität und PH zu forcieren. Das Institut will damit den neuen Aufgaben sowie Herausforderungen, inner- und außeruniversitäre Einrichtungen rund um dieses gesellschaftspolitische Thema zu koordinieren und abzustimmen, verstärkt Rechnung tragen. „Wir wollen die Qualitätsdebatte der Lehramtsausbildung in den Vordergrund stellen und nicht bildungspolitisches Kalküldenken fortschreiben“, so Agnieszka Czejkowska.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
