Preisverleihung des Logo-Wettbewerbs und Ausstellungseröffnung

Roboter lernen die Sprache der Tiere – dieses ehrgeizige Ziel verfolgen WissenschafterInnen am Artificial Life Lab der Uni Graz mit „Animal and robot Societies Self-organise and Integrate by Social Interaction“ – kurz ASSISI. Um die Kommunikation für das Projekt selbst zu fördern, wurde ein Logo-Wettbewerb unter SchülerInnen und Studierenden ausgeschrieben. Knapp 50 Ideen wurden eingereicht, die besten drei am 4. Juli 2013 im Haus der Wissenschaft mit insgesamt 1500 Euro prämiert. Gleichzeitig erfolgte mit der Preisverleihung die Eröffnung der Ausstellung, die sowohl einen Streifzug durch die Logo-Entwürfe als auch interaktive Einblick durch die Projekte des Artificial Life Lab. BesucherInnen können sich danke einer innovativen Entwicklung der FH Joanneum durch die Forschungen „dirigieren“.
Die Ausstellung im Haus der Wissenschaft ist bis 30. Juli und nach der Sommerpause wieder ab 8. Oktober 2013 zu sehen.

Der neue Kommunikationskanal soll es künftig ermöglichen, Tierpopulationen wie zum Beispiel Fischwärme zu lenken. Die ForscherInnen erwarten, dass ihre Technologien vor allem in der Landwirtschaft und im Umwelt-Monitoring eingesetzt werden. Koordinator von ASSISI ist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmickl, Leiter des Artificial Life Lab der Uni Graz. Die internationalen ForschungspartnerInnen kommen aus Portugal, der Schweiz, Deutschland, Frankreich und Kroatien.
