Sport trifft Mathe

Maarten F. Bobbert, Pionier der Modellierung, referierte an der Universität Graz

Die mathematische Modellierung gewinnt auch in den Sport- und Bewegungswissenschaften zusehends an Bedeutung. Zu immer mehr Fragestellungen liefern Modelle und Simulationen Antworten, die auf traditionelle Weise nicht gefunden werden können. Dabei reichen die Themen von Bewegungskontrolle über Muskelkontraktionen bis hin zu menschlichen Bewegungen sowie Interaktionen mehrerer Personen. 


Im Rahmen eines Workshops an  der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz präsentierten und diskutierten talentierte NachwuchswissenschafterInnen sowie etablierte, renommierte ForscherInnen aus dem In- und Ausland vergangene Woche ihre Arbeiten zu der Verbindung zwischen Sport- und Bewegungswissenschaften und mathematischer Modellierung. So demonstrierte Dr. Daniel Häufle, Universität Stuttgart, anschaulich, wie effektiv der Körper Bewegungen steuert. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt war der Vortrag des Niederländers Prof. Maarten F. Bobbert von der Universität Amsterdam, einem Pionier der Modellierung des Stütz- und Bewegungsapparats. Er war unter anderem an der Erfindung des „Clap Skates“, einer revolutionären Idee im Eisschnelllaufsport, beteiligt.


Der Workshop fand im Rahmen des universitären Forschungsschwerpunkts der Uni Graz „Modelle und Simulation“ statt und wurde vom Institut für Sportwissenschaft und der Doktoratsschule Sport- und Bewegungswissenschaft organisiert.
