Wettbewerb des Projekts Denkzeitraum lädt noch bis 15. Oktober zur Teilnahme ein

Wer oder was verdient ein Denkmal in Graz? Mit dieser Frage laden die InitiatorInnen des Projekts Denkzeitraum zur Teilnahme an einem Wettbewerb ein, der zum Nachdenken anregen und gleichzeitig die Wahrnehmung von Denkmälern in der Stadt schärfen will.
Wer mitmachen möchte, kann einfach online unter https://denk-mal.uni-graz.at das persönliche Denkmal auf einer Karte von Graz eintragen. Dort sind auch alle bereits gesetzten Vorschläge zu sehen. Teilnahmeschluss ist der 15. Oktober 2017.
Die zehn besten Ideen werden bei der Abschlussveranstaltung des diesjährigen Denkzeitraums, am 19. Oktober um 18 Uhr im Glockenspiel, Abraham-a-Santa-Clara-Gasse 4, 8010 Graz, präsentiert und mit jeweils 50 Euro prämiert.

Denkzeitraum ist ein Projekt des Arbeitsbereichs Praktische Philosophie an der Universität Graz in Kooperation mit der Stadt Graz, das sich seit 2011 jedes Jahr im Rahmen mehrerer Veranstaltungen mit einer anderen Frage auseinandersetzt. „Wem gehört der öffentliche Raum?“, lautete diese 2017.
Die Ergebnisse der Aktivitäten werden jährlich in einer Publikation zusammengefasst. So finden auch die prämierten Denkmal-Ideen Eingang in den nächsten Denkzeitraum-Band.

“HeinrichBiCool”: University of Graz demonstrates the effects of green facades and roofs

The University of Graz has launched a pioneering project at the University Centre for Theology. Its name, “HeinrichBiCool”, says it all: a comprehensive system of green facades and roof will cool the building at Heinrichstraße 80 during the summer. At the same time, this will create a new habitat for plants and animals, helping to increase biodiversity. The accompanying monitoring programme will provide detailed data on the impact of the measures on indoor climate, energy consumption and biodiversity. The findings will lay a scientifically sound foundation for further projects aimed at making cities sustainable, climate-resilient and liveable. The partners in this project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), are AEE INTEC – Institute for Sustainable Technologies, Technisches Büro Siegfried Stark, the landscape architecture and urban planning firm “studio boden”, and Ökoteam Graz.
