Die Universitätsbibliothek bekommt ab 14. Dezember 2017 ein neues Bibliothekssystem. Für BenutzerInnen bleibt (fast) alles beim Alten

Aleph hat ausgedient, es wird Zeit für „Alma“: Die Universitätsbibliothek Graz stellt von Mitte Dezember bis Anfang Jänner 2018 phasenweise ihr Bibliothekssystem um. Österreichweit sind alle wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken im Verbund an diesem Projekt beteiligt.

Für NutzerInnen der UB Graz soll sich bei der Recherche und Bestellung von Medien ab dem neuen Jahr nichts ändern; uni≡kat bleibt als Bestelltool auch weiterhin verfügbar. Nur ist es notwendig, das System aufgrund der Migration der Daten von Aleph nach Alma abzuschalten. „Wir haben alle Möglichkeiten ausgeschöpft, die unumgänglichen Systemunterbrechungen so kurz wie möglich zu halten“, erklärt Dr. Werner Schlacher, geschäftsführender Leiter der Universitätsbibliothek. „Die wichtigsten Arbeiten werden daher an Wochenenden durchgeführt.“ Bestellungen über uni≡kat sowie die Entlehnung von Werken sind nur an ausgewählten Tagen nicht möglich. Schlacher rät daher, die benötigten Werke für Prüfungen und wissenschaftliche Arbeiten bereits vor Beginn der Umstellungsphase, also vor dem 14. Dezember 2017, zu organisieren.

Wichtig ist: In uni≡kat gespeicherte Suchprofile sind in das neue Bibliothekssystem nicht übertragbar und werden am 05.01.2018 gelöscht. Ebenfalls sind Vormerkungen nach Alma nicht übertragbar und verlieren ebenfalls mit 5. Jänner 2018 ihr Gültigkeit. „Wir empfehlen unseren BenutzerInnen ihre Daten zu sichern und sich neu vorzumerken“, sagt Werner Schlacher.

“HeinrichBiCool”: University of Graz demonstrates the effects of green facades and roofs

The University of Graz has launched a pioneering project at the University Centre for Theology. Its name, “HeinrichBiCool”, says it all: a comprehensive system of green facades and roof will cool the building at Heinrichstraße 80 during the summer. The partners in this project, funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), are AEE INTEC – Institute for Sustainable Technologies, Technisches Büro Siegfried Stark, the landscape architecture and urban planning firm “studio boden”, and Ökoteam Graz.
