Interdisziplinärer Workshop zeigt Grenzen des Visuellen in Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften auf

Sehen oder besser "Sehstörungen" sind das zentrale Thema eines fächerübergreifenden Workshops des Instituts für Germanistik, der gemeinsam mit dem Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften Berlin von 21. bis 23. Februar 2013 in der deutschen Bundeshauptstadt veranstaltet wird. Mitorganisatorin seitens der Uni Graz ist Univ.-Prof. Dr.phil. Anne-Kathrin Reulecke.

Das Wissen vom Sehen und vom Auge konstituiert sich maßgeblich über die Grenzen des Sehens. Ob in physiologischen, philosophischen oder psychoanalytischen Diskursen; ob in der Literatur, der bildenden Kunst oder im Film, stets sind es der Ausfall des Visuellen, die Trübung des Blicks oder die Einschränkung des Sichtfeldes, die Auskunft darüber geben sollen, wie das Sehen funktioniert. Auf dem interdisziplinär angelegten Workshop werden sich WissenschaftshistorikerInnen und KulturwissenschaftlerInnen mit dem weiten Feld der Sehstörungen befassen und dabei dessen Effekte auf Erkenntnistheorie, Subjektkonstitution und Kunstproduktion nachvollziehen. Im Mittelpunkt des mehrtägigen Workshops steht neben interessanten Fachvorträgen vor allem die Analyse von literarische Texten, Photographien und Filmen.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
