Alle Jahre wieder werden das Wort und Unwort des Jahres gesucht

Bereits zum 13. Mal ist die Jury rund um den Grazer Germanisten und Sprachwissenschafter Ass.-Prof. Dr. Rudolf Muhr von der Forschungstelle Österreichisches Deutsch auf der Suche nach dem Österreichischen "Wort und Unwort des Jahres 2012". Bis zum 5. November können Interessierte und all jene, die meinen, Wörter zu kennen, die im laufenden Jahr 2012 von besonderer Bedeutung waren/sind, im öffentlichen Leben des Landes, häufig verwendet wurden, wichtig waren und besondere sprachliche Qualitäten haben, einreichen. „Die Wahl bringt die Leute zum Nachdenken, was in der Gesellschaft passiert. Und nebenbei wird das Bewusstsein für eigene und politische Sprache geschärft“, erklärt der Initiator Rudolf Muhr.

Und so läuft die Vorwahl und Wahl:

angeben und in die Datenbank eintragen. Aus allen Einsendungen wählt die Jury – sie besteht aus WissenschafterInnen vorwiegend von Philologischen Instituten der Universität Graz – in zwei Auswahlsitzungen das entsprechende Wort und Unwort des Jahres.

Das Endergebnis wird am 6. Dezember via Austria Presse Agentur bekannt gegeben.
