56 graduates of the University of Graz who earned their doctorates 50 years ago renewed their doctoral oath during a ceremony in the auditorium on 18 November 2025. Rector Peter Riedler and Vice-Rector Catherine Walter-Laager awarded the jubilarians their "golden doctoral diplomas".

Encounters with interesting personalities, freedom and independence during their studies, dedicated professors, optimism and a spirit of optimism, as well as learning, working and celebrating together with fellow students: these are fond memories shared by the graduates of the University of Graz, who returned to their alma mater for the 50th anniversary of their graduation, according to their own statements.
Rector Peter Riedler expressed his thanks and appreciation to the jubilarians: “Your remarkable personal and professional careers – some of them in science – impressively demonstrate the importance of the University of Graz as a centre of research and education. With the knowledge you acquired here, you have made an impact on society and actively shaped the future.” The deans of the faculties introduced the graduates during the ceremony and shared their memories of their time as students. As they did when they received their doctorates 50 years ago, the jubilarians once again took the academic oath as a sign of their attachment to the university.
