Die Webradio-Beiträge werden mit dem Web-Service von <a href="http://auphonic.com">Auphonic</a> nachbearbeitet.

Auf <a href="http://www.soundportal.at">Radio Soundportal</a> sind die Webradio-Beiträge täglich einmal vormittags und einmal nachmittags zu hören.

Vier neue Informationsbeiträge sind seit Montag online

Eine neue Webradio-Woche hat begonnen, dieses Mal mit diesen vier Beiträgen:

1) Forschung: "Dem Ozean zuliebe". Wissenschafter der TU Graz kämpfen gegen die Übersäuerung der Meere - und um einen Teilnahmeplatz an einem international renommierten Forschungs-Wettbewerb.

2) Bildung: "Wege zwischen Theater und Gesellschaft". Mit dem Projekt SCHAUSPIEL AKTIV! setzt sich das Grazer Schauspielhaus seit Jahren für Theatervermittlung ein. Gemeinsam mit der KUG wird nun ein Symposium samt Werkschau veranstaltet.

3) Campusleben: "Die Universität am Ohr". Seit 1. Oktober steht die Uni Graz-Campustour-App gratis zum Download bereit. Was die App kann und wie es zu ihrer Entwicklung gekommen ist, hören Sie diese Woche.

4) Aktuell gefragt: "Gesunder Lebensstil im Check". Wie aussagekräftig ist der BMI? Wie viel soll man trinken, wie viel Vitamine zusätzlich aufnehmen? Den "gesunden" Lebensstil glauben wir alle zu kennen. Doch wie viel ist Fakt und wie viel Mythos?

Four introduced species of leafhoppers newly discovered in the Botanical Garden Graz

They have travelled to Europe as stowaways via international trade and are now rapidly taking over large parts of the continent: more and more insects from other parts of the world are becoming established here. Biologist Gernot Kunz recently discovered four species for the first time at the University of Graz Botanical Garden: the American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus), the wounded leafhopper from North America (Erasmoneura vulnerata) and the Japanese grape leafhopper (Arboridia kakogawana) – all three specialising in vines – as well as the Indian leafhopper Pediopsoides sharmai, which is associated with walnut trees.

A total of 170 entries were submitted to the Austrian Academy of Sciences’ essay competition on the topic of artificial intelligence and science. Both first and second place went to researchers from the University of Graz.

The Arctic up close: ORF special feature on the University of Graz’s research station in S

Students from the University of Graz are spending two weeks conducting research at the Univerisity of Graz research station at the Sermilik Fjord in Greenland, which has been operational for three years. They are measuring glacial runoff, tracking ice melt in real time and installing weather stations. ORF is following the expedition and will be reporting on the special feature ‘Arctic Adventure’ across its various channels from 20 July.
