„Zwischendurch-Geschenk“: ein neuer Hut für Heppners Sammlung

Südosteuropa-Tagung „Provincial Turn“ zu Ehren des Historikers Harald Heppner

Warum Staat und Provinz, vor allem im südöstlichen Europa, einander brauchen oder auch aneinander geraten, das zeigten HistorikerInnen im Rahmen der Tagung „Provincial Turn“ am 1. Oktober 2015 an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz auf. Die Konferenz – organisiert von Historikerin Dr. Ulrike Tischler-Hofer – stand nicht nur im Fokus des gesamtuniversitären Schwerpunkts Südosteuropa, sondern war auch einem der Forschungsthemen von Ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c.(mult.) Harald Heppner gewidmet, der mit dem Tag der Veranstaltung in den Ruhestand wechselte.

Forschungs-Vizerektor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Scherrer würdigte das wissenschaftliche Wirken des Historikers. Mag. Sabine Pendl, Leiterin des Büros für Internationale Beziehungen, wertschätzte Heppners Engagement als Erasmus-Koordinator für die Studierendenmobilität. Ein „Zwischendurch-Geschenk“ überreichte im Namen der KollegInnen Historiker-Kollege Univ.-Prof. Dr. Karl Kaser: zwei außergewöhnliche Kopfbedeckungen, die in die Sammlung von Harald Heppner Aufnahme finden werden.
