Mehr Mobilität für WissenschafterInnen: Diana Afrashteh vom Büro für Internationale Beziehungen, Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, Botschafter der Republik Kuba in Österreich, Rektorin Neuper und Maiky Díaz Pérez, Dritte Botschaftssekretärin (v.l.), trafen sich, um Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit zu besprechen.

Kubanischer Botschafter zu Besuch

Hoher Besuch zum zweiten: Nach der ägyptischen Delegation empfing Rektorin Christa Neuper ebenfalls am 21. März 2013 den neuen Botschafter der Republik Kuba in Österreich, Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera. Dieser stattete in Begleitung von Prof. Dr. Maiky Díaz Pérez, dritte Botschaftssekretärin, der Uni Graz einen Besuch ab. Dabei wurden generelle Möglichkeiten der verstärkten akademischen Zusammenarbeit besprochen sowie auf konkrete gemeinsame Vorhaben eingegangen. Die Universität Graz ist mit der Universidad Central „Marta Abreu“ de Las Villas im Rahmen des Erasmus Mundus Programms verbunden. Ein bilateraler Kooperationsvertrag ist ebenfalls in Verhandlung.

 
Botschafter Marsán Aguilera berichtete vom großen Interesse kubanischer WissenschafterInnen an Forschungsaufenthalten in Österreich, welche über das „Ernst Mach“ Stipendiums des OeAD realisiert werden könnten. Rektorin Neuper betonte die Bedeutung der Mobilität von NachwuchswissenschafterInnen und unterstrich auch das Interesse der Universität Graz, diese im Rahmen von künftigen Kooperationen in Graz willkommen zu heißen.
