Nachhaltige Innovation

TEMPUS-Projekt koordiniert Netzwerk in Albanien und dem Kosovo

In den vergangenen Jahren hat die Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz mit PartnerInnen aus Südosteuropa verstärkt auch über TEMPUS-Projekte kooperiert. Das TEMPUS-Programm der Europäischen Union fördert Projekte mit dem Ziel der Modernisierung des Hochschulwesens in den Partnerländern in Osteuropa, Zentralasien, dem westlichen Balkan und im Mittelmeerraum.

 

Eines der aktuelleren Beispiele, die in diesem Zusammenhang hervorzuheben sind, ist ein von der Universität Graz koordiniertes Tempus Projekt mit PartnerInnen aus Albanien und dem Kosovo. Der Projektvorschlag „ConSus: Connecting science-society collaborations for sustainability innovations“, der vom Team des RCE Graz-Styria unter der Leitung von O.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Friedrich Zimmermann ausgearbeitet und bei der letzten Antragsrunde im Rahmen des Tempus Programmes 2013 eingereicht wurde, konnte die GutachterInnen bei der Europäischen Kommission überzeugen.

 

Das Projekt, das sich im zweiten Jahr der Implementierung befindet, widmet sich einem der regionalen Schwerpunktthemen, die im Tempus Programm für die Region des Westlichen Balkan definiert sind. Ausgehend vom Schwerpunkt des Wissensdreiecks „Bildung, Forschung und Innovation“ soll im Rahmen des Projektes die Einführung eines Netzwerkes für nachhaltige Innovation in Albanien und dem Kosovo erzielt werden, das die Bereiche Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft zusammenführt.

 

Stellvertretend für die ProjektpartnerInnen wurde das RCE Graz-Styria für diese Anstrengungen im November 2014 von der globalen RCE Community und der United Nations University mit dem Recognition Award als „Outstanding Flagship Project“ ausgezeichnet.

Scientists at the University of Graz are drawing attention to the negative consequences of this toxic cocktail.
