Grit Straganz erhielt den Preis der Gesellschaft Österreichischer Chemiker für die beste Habilitation.

Neue, nachhaltige Methoden zur Synthese sucht Grit Straganz, Leiterin einer Arbeitsgruppe zur Erforschung der Katalyse an enzymatischen Metallzentren am Institut für Molekulare Biowissenschaften der Uni Graz. Auch im Rahmen ihrer Habilitation beschäftigte sich die Chemikerin mit Metallenzymen. Sie konnte zeigen, wie das Repertoir eines solchen Metallzentrums mittels computergestützten Methoden erweitert werden kann, was neue Synthesewege erschließt. Von der Gesellschaft Österreichischer Chemiker wurde Straganz dafür kürzlich mit dem mit 2000 Euro dotierten Preis für die beste Arbeit im Rahmen einer Habilitation ausgezeichnet.
