Übersiedelung von Beständen aus dem Tiefspeicher: Die Bestellung aktueller Literatur ist zwischen 20. und 28. April 2017 nicht möglich

Der Abbruch der alten UB-Fassade ist beinahe vollzogen, es beginnen die Vorbereitungen für die ersten Installationsarbeiten des Zubaus. Aus diesem Grund ist es notwendig einige Bestände aus den Magazinen der Hauptbibliothek zu übersiedeln. Betroffen sind vor allem Werke der Signaturenkreise ab I 693.000 – das entspricht ungefähr dem Erscheinungsjahr 2007 – und ab II 738.501 - ungefähres Erscheinungsjahr 2011 – sowie alle IVer-Formate, das sind vor allem Zeitungen und Zeitschriften. Diese Bestände sind von Donnerstag, dem 20.4.2017 ab 15 Uhr bis Freitag 28.4.2017 ab 8 Uhr nicht über uni≡kat bestellbar.

Ab Freitag, 28.4.2017 ab 8 Uhr können die Signaturenkreise I und II aus der Depotbibliothek bestellt werden und am nächsten Werktag ab 14 Uhr an der Ausleihe in der Beethovenstraße 8 abgeholt werden. Alle Bestände mit dem Großformat IV sind als Kopie aus der Depotbibliothek orderbar. Einschränkungen zumindest bis zum Herbst gibt es bei den ehemaligen Freihandbeständen mit der Signatur HB1, HB2, HB3 und HB29 (Lexika, Enzyklopädien und Wörterbücher). Diese sind ab Dienstag, dem 2.5.2017 nicht mehr zugänglich, aber ab Herbst wieder benutzbar.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
