Was hinter diesem Stichwort steckt, klärt eine neue Folge des "HörSaal"-Wissenschafts-Podcasts. Plus: Jetzt fürs gleichnamige Masterstudium bewerben!

Kunst und Kultur im Lockdown - das hören und lesen wir fast durchgehend seit mehr als einem Jahr. Damit meinen wir Theater, Museen, Kinos. In der soziologischen Forschung ist hat das Wort "Kultur" aber noch eine andere, weitere Bedeutung: "Gemeint ist die gesamte Lebensweise des Menschen. Wir setzen uns immer wieder mit unserer Umwelt auseinander, interpretieren sie, suchen und stiften Sinn. Daraus entstehen Deutungs- und Glaubenssysteme, aber auch bestimmte Gebräuche und Sitten", erklärt Katharina Scherke vom Institut für Soziologie der Universität Graz.

In einer neuen Ausgabe von "HörSaal: 15 Minuten Forschung" erklärt sie den Forschungsbereich der Kultursoziologie anhand eines einprägsamen Beispiels - nämlich mittels Emotionen. Denn: "Emotionen haben wir nicht einfach so. Sie sind durch bestimmte gesellschaftliche Vorgaben und Normen geregelt", so Katharina Scherke.
