Uni Graz und WKO Steiermark verstärken ihre Zusammenarbeit.

In der letzten Woche unterzeichneten die Führungsspitzen der Universität Graz und der Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark ein neues Kooperationsabkommen. Ab Herbst 2022 soll es neue Prototyping-Workshops und -Lehrveranstaltungen des Zentrums für Entrepreneurship der Uni Graz auch in den Räumlichkeiten des WIFI geben. "Damit wollen wir die bestehende Kooperation nochmals intensivieren", so der geschäftsführende Rektor Peter Riedler, der gemeinsam mit Zentrums-Leiter Alfred Gutschelhofer und Unicorn-Geschäftsführer Bernhard Weber das neue Abkommen unterzeichnete. Für die Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark bestätigten Präsident Josef Herk, Direktor Karl-Heinz Dernoscheg und WIFI-Leiter Martin Neubauer den "Letter of Intent".

Mit der Zusammenarbeit sollen vor allem Gründungsinteressierte aus dem akademischen Umfeld angesprochen werden. Ziel ist ein steirischer "Makerspace", der Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft verbindet. Darüber hinaus übernimmt die Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark die Patronanz für vier Coworking-Arbeitsplätze im neuen Unicorn. Zusätzlich wird es flexible Gründungsberatungen geben. "Die Zusammenarbeit hat jedenfalls ganz viel Potenzial", bestätigt Rektor Peter Riedler.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
