Karriere-Messe für Studierende: EXCELLENCE am 21. November

Nach dem Studium erfolgreich ins Berufsleben einsteigen: Die Universität Graz leistet mit der Karriere-Messe EXCELLENCE am 21. November 2023 die ideale Starthilfe. 70 Arbeitgeber:innen und Institutionen präsentieren sich im Hauptgebäude der Uni Graz.

Zusätzlich zu den Infoständen vermitteln mehr als 20 Vorträge und Podiumsdiskussionen Wissenswertes für den beruflichen Ein- und Aufstieg. Die Bandbreite reicht von Praxiseinblicken in die Sozialpsychiatrie, Dos and Don'ts für Jobs in der Steuerberatung und Studieren und Arbeiten im Ausland bis zum Thema Selbstständigkeit.
Neben dem beliebten Bewerbungsfoto-Corner gibt es heuer wieder den Lebenslauf-Check.
Die ersten 1000 Besucher:innen dürfen sich auf eine prall gefüllte Goodie-Bag freuen, in der sowohl namhafte Produkte von beliebten Firmen als auch wichtige Informationen rund um das Thema Karriere stecken.
Der Eintritt ist frei, Anmeldungen sind für einzelne Programmpunkte erforderlich.

Bio-plastics and baroque theatre: Awards for two researchers from the University of Graz

Chemist Katalin Barta Weissert received this year's "Forschungspreis des Landes Steiermark", while Germanist Christian Neuhuber received the "Erzherzog-Johann-Forschungspreis". The awards are endowed with 12,000 euros each and are presented for outstanding achievements in the field of science and research. Provincial Councillor Willibald Ehrenhöfer presented the awards on 7 November 2025 in the White Hall of Graz Castle.

EU supports team led by molecular biologist Brigitte Pertschy with around ten million euro

The European Research Council (ERC) is funding the snoOPERA project with around ten million euros to research the structure of cellular protein factories. The four researchers involved want to clarify how tiny RNA-protein complexes control the formation of ribosomes—a key to understanding diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's.
