Die Kubanerin Edelys Santana Cruz, als Vertreterin des Zentralkommittees zuständig für internationale Beziehungen, kam zum Erfahrungsaustausch an die Uni Graz.

Hochrangiger Besuch aus Kuba an der Uni Graz

Edelys Santana Cruz, die Europa-Verantwortliche der Internationalen Abteilung des Zentralkomitees der Kommunistischen Partei der Republik Kuba, stattete im Rahmen ihrer Steiermark-Reise der Karl-Franzens-Universität einen Besuch ab. Die hochrangige Vertreterin der Karibik-Insel traf neben Vizerektor Martin Polaschek auch den Lateinamerika-Experten Klaus-Dieter Ertler sowie Romanistik-Studierende zum Erfahrungsaustausch. Santana Cruz ist selbst Lehrende und wollte Einblicke in eine österreichische Universität bekommen. Die Beteiligten knüpften auch erste Kontakte für eine spätere Zusammenarbeit. Die Karl-Franzens-Universität hat bereits mehrere Kooperationen mit Kuba, unter anderem Mobilitätsprogramme für Studierende und Lehrende in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universidad de Habana sowie der Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de las Villas.
