Anglistik-Studierende des Bereichs Fachdidaktik nahmen an der IATEFL-Konferenz in Glasgow teil

IATEFL ist die International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, und die jährliche Konferenz mit rund 3000 TeilnehmerInnen ist eine der wichtigsten internationalen Tagungen im Bereich der Fremdsprachendidaktik. Eine Gruppe von Fachdidaktik-Studierenden des Instituts für Anglistik der Uni Graz nahm an der diesjährigen IATEFL-Konferenz in Glasgow teil - mit großem Erfolg.

„Die Studierenden waren mit Begeisterung bei der Sache und nutzten die Gelegenheit, neueste Unterrichtsmaterialien kennenzulernen und sich mit innovativen Lehr- und Lernmethoden und der neuesten Forschung auseinanderzusetzen“, so Exkursionsleiterin Dr. Ulla Fürstenberg. Durch die Teilnahme an der Konferenz konnten die Studierenden aktuelle Perspektiven im Unterricht von Englisch als Fremdsprache kennenlernen und sich als Teil der internationalen Community in ihrem Fachbereich begreifen. „Eine internationale Tagung dieser Größenordnung bietet natürlich eine Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten zum Informationsaustausch mit ExpertInnen und KollegInnen. Die Studierenden konnten viele Kontakte mit Gleichgesinnten knüpfen“, unterstreicht Fürstenberg.

Als Teil des Kurses verfassten die Studierenden Beiträge für einen Blog: https://iateflexcursiongraz.wordpress.com. Hier berichten sie über die Konferenz und ihre Entdeckungen in der Gastgeberstadt Glasgow, alles illustriert mit persönlichen Fotos. „Die Begeisterung und der Einsatz der Studierenden machten die Exkursion zu einem großen Erfolg und sorgten dafür, dass die Universität Graz sehr positiv wahrgenommen wurde“, betont Fürstenberg.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI
