Ringvorlesung zu Dimension/en des Europäischen startet am 2. März 2016

Europa - von der Antike bis ins Mittelalter - steht im Mittelpunkt einer aktuellen Ringvorlesung an der Uni Graz. 15 WissenschafterInnen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen, von der Geschichte über die Rechtswissenschaften und Gender Studies bis hin zur Germanistik, werden dabei Einblicke in den auf vielfältige Weise geprägten Kontinent geben.

Die Vorträge spannen ein Netzwerk, das sowohl geographische, künstlerische als auch sozio-kulturelle, regionale und politische Aspekte beeinhaltet. So werden die Leistungen Europas hinsichtlich der Aufklärung und Etablierung der Menschenrechte ebenso diskutiert wie Mobilitäten und Migration am Kontinent sowie Erzählungen über Europa. Das Résumé wird Ao. Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Anita Ziegerhofer vom Institut für Österreichische Rechtsgeschichte und Europäische Rechtsentwicklung am 29. Juni 2016 ziehen.

Die Ringvorlesung ist allen Interessierten kostenlos zugänglich.

The Nazi elite school Napola: Historian seeks memories and personal documents

They were to be brought up to become the future elite of National Socialism: boys and girls aged ten and over who, following the ‘Anschluss’ of Austria to the German Reich, attended a so-called Napola (short for Nationalpolitische Lehranstalt; also known as NPEA, Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalt).
