ÖAW fördert zwei NachwuchsforscherInnen mit Stipendien

Stipendien der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften (ÖAW) zählen zu den renommierten Förderungen des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses. Zwei davon gingen kürzlich an junge ForscherInnen der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Ein DOC-Stipendium erhielt Jan Stupacher vom Institut für Psychologie. Mit einem APART-Stipendium wird die Arbeit von Martina Fürst vom Institut für Philosophie gewürdigt. Die Stipendien wurden am 30. Jänner 2015 von ÖAW-Präsident Univ.-Prof. Dr. Anton Zeilinger in Wien feierlich überreicht.

Im Rahmen des DoktorandInnen-Programmes der ÖAW wird Dipl.-Psych. Jan Stupacher gefördert. In seiner Dissertation setzt sich der Psychologe mit dem Zusammenspiel von Musik und Bewegung auseinander. „Schon das bloße Hören von Musik, ohne tatsächliche Bewegungen zu derselben, beeinflusst die Aktivität des motorischen Systems“, so Stupacher.

Im Rahmen der Förderreihe “Austrian Programme for Advanced Reasarch and Technology” (APART) war Dr. Martina Fürst erfolgreich. Ihre Forschungsarbeit unter dem Titel „Phänomenaler Charakter und kognitive Zustände“ am Institut für Philosophie wird ebenfalls drei Jahre lang unterstützt.

Forschungs-Vizerektor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Scherrer freut sich über die Einwerbung: „Ich gratuliere den StipendiatInnen und ihren Instituten.“

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.
