1711 Interessierten besuchten die Maya-Ausstellung im UniGraz@Museum. Gestern ging sie zu Ende

Mit einem Workshop für die vierte Klasse Volksschule "Am Jägergrund" ging am 31. Jänner 2013 die Ausstellung „Kalender und Astronomie der Maya“ im UniGraz@Museum an der Uni Graz zu Ende. „Hands on!“ lautet das Motto des UniGraz@Museums an diesem Tag, und so packten die SchülerInnen vom Jägergrund zum Ausstellungsende noch einmal tüchtig an: Sie rechneten mit Maya-Zahlen, zeichneten Masken und bewiesen ihr Wissen beim großen Maya-Spiel. Insgesamt 1711 Interessierte waren gekommen, um anhand des Kalendersystems der Maya zu erfahren, warum die Welt nicht untergehen wird oder – nach dem 21. Dezember 2012 -, warum sie nicht untergegangen ist. Mit dieser Besucherzahl wurde die Maya-Schau zur bisher erfolgreichsten Sonderausstellung im UniGraz@Museum, das im heurigen April sein zweijähriges Bestehen feiern wird.

Weitere Sonderausstellungen im Jahr 2013 werden einen Bogen, ausgehend von der Uni-Geschichte aus Sicht von Studierenden der Geisteswissenschaften („Seitenblitze“, ab 7. März) über den „Holocaust im Comic“ (ab Juni) bis zur „ Vermessung der Seele“ (ab Oktober) spannen.
